BBC Jubilee Project - call for submissions

Dear All
My name is Jo Curtis and I work at BBC South East Today.   BBC South East are creating a huge piece of art for the Diamond Jubilee and I’d appreciate any help in spreading the message to your members to encourage them to participate.
I have to just 3 weeks to gather 10,000 photos of people of Kent and East Sussex.   BBC South East are creating a huge piece of art for the Diamond Jubilee.    The “People’s Monarch” will be a massive photo mosaic portrait of the Queen created from 10,000 photographs of people from the South East.  So, in essence a portrait of the Queen made up of photos of people.   It’s “a celebration of Britain in the Jubilee year"....with the public helping to build a portrait of the Queen using photos of themselves.
The portrait will be the size of a double decker bus and will go on show at Eastbourne’s Towner Gallery from 25th May until 10th June.   Afterwards it comes to a location in Kent (details yet to be announced).    So, everyone who submits photos will get the chance to go along and find their photo on display in an art gallery or via our website – as we will feature the finished artwork online and viewers will get the option to zoom in and out and find their picture in the composition.
Photos should be submitted online and can be old or new, colour or black and white -  as long as they are photographs of people.
Please see our link to the project: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-17516843 which explains at the bottom how you submit photos.
I need to get over 250 photos submitted every day in order to reach our 10,000 photo target.    May 11th  is the closing date by which we need to amass all of our images.     It’s easy to submit photos just go to our websites: www.bbc.co.uk/kent  OR www.bbc.co.uk/sussex  and follow the instructions.
I will also send you our poster and also our press release (should you be able to send these on).
Please help us get the message out there.
In the meantime, if you want to speak to me directly I can be contacted on:  01892 675683.
Many thanks,

Joanne Curtis
