The Stade, Hastings

| |
There are so many things happening at The Stade at the moment, the next couple of weekends have particular highlights with The Boat Project dropping anchor this weekend, celebrated with the singathon on the beach and exhibition at Stade Hall and Jerwood which includes work by Project Art Works. There may be a photograph involved along the way but this is I'm afraid unashamedly lacking in photo related information - although is a useful link to flagging up the forthcoming Stade Portrait Workshop with Sin Bozlurt on 20th July and the second of Grace Lau's sessions will run on 13th July. These are set up to support and encourage participants wanting to enter the Stade Colour 2012 Competition, follow link for further details (and previous post).

Next weekend brings a big dance event to the Stade, again more inspiration for the photo comp.

There is a call for participants also to take part in the forthcoming Bicycle Ballet which will also run as part of Stade Saturdays:

"BICYCLE BALLET CALLOUT FOR PARTICIPANTS
Interested in dance? Interested in cycling? Try something new!

Bicycle Ballet is an exhilarating mass participation dance show celebrating the highs and lows of cycling. Up to 80 local people dance and cycle between set formation pieces reminiscent of Busby Berkeley's film choreography, with visual spectacle, humour, poignancy and character based stories inspired by people's cycling experiences. The work is created for outdoors, to cross the boundaries of art, sport, health and environment, to attract the widest range of audiences or passers-by, and to transform familiar environments into places of discovery and magic...

BICYCLE BALLET NEEDS YOU!

The Bicycle Ballet is taking place in 5 locations across England this summer and we need to find participants in Hastings. It's an amazing opportunity to have fun with your bike, work with talented, professional choreographers and to learn and develop new skills. There are opportunities to be part of the Chorus (up to 24 people) who perform the bulk of the choreography and the Mass (up to 60 people) who punctuate the performance, in large formations which sweep across the space.

GET INVOLVED!

To participate in the show, please contact Cat Denning, 01424 451986 or email stadesaturday@hastings.gov.uk
Or just come along!
Have a go! Taster Session, Tuesday 3rd July, 6.30pm - 9pm

There will be rehearsals through September with a final public performance taking place on 29th September.
